catholic business seeks emergency block of contraception mandate

A public interest law firm representing a Catholic business organization in Ann Arbor, Mich. has filed a lawsuit asking for an emergency block of the contraception mandate, which starting Aug. 1 will require employer-provided insurance to cover contraception without a copay, reported politico. Religiously-affiliated groups like hospitals and universities have a one-year extension as the government continues to work out a compromise, but private employers do not qualify.
